CookbooksPro

Cookie policy

Updated: September 15, 2026

This policy explains what CookbooksPro stores in your browser. It is deliberately short, because this site stores very little — and the honest summary is that we do not track you.

What we do not use

What we do store, and why

WhatTypePurposeHow long
Amazon storefront preferencelocalStorage (cbp:store)Remembers which Amazon store (US, UK, Canada or Australia) you chose, so our buttons keep pointing at your store instead of asking againUntil you clear your browser data
Cookie notice acknowledgementlocalStorage (cbp-cookies-ok)Remembers that you already dismissed the notice, so it is not shown again on every pageUntil you clear your browser data
Sidebar rotationsessionStorage (sideads-memo)Avoids showing the same recommendation twice in a row during one visitDeleted when you close the tab

localStorage and sessionStorage are not cookies: nothing here is sent to us, and we cannot read it. These entries are a preference held by your own browser, which is why they are permitted under the ePrivacy rules without a consent banner — the notice exists to be transparent, not to gate the site.

What we do not set, and the one third party you should know about

We set no analytics, advertising, social, heatmap or A/B testing cookies. There is no counter on this site, and no profile of you is built here.

The one third-party request we do make is web fonts: the typefaces on this page are loaded from Google Fonts (fonts.googleapis.com / fonts.gstatic.com), and that request discloses your IP address to Google, as any external resource would. It sets no cookie and stores nothing on your device, but it is a third party, so it belongs in this page rather than hidden. We plan to self-host the fonts, which will remove the request entirely; until then, this is the honest version.

Every other third party on this site appears only if you click: Amazon (affiliate links) and the sister brands linked in the footer.

Amazon’s own cookies

When you follow an affiliate link to Amazon and buy something, Amazon may set its own cookies to attribute the sale to this site. Those cookies belong to Amazon, not to us: we neither control them nor have access to them, and they are governed by Amazon’s privacy notice. No cookie from Amazon is set just by reading this site — only if you click through to them.

How to control them

You can clear this site’s stored preferences at any time from your browser settings (usually under “Cookies and site data” or “Storage”). Because we do not rely on cookies to serve the site, blocking them will not break your reading — the only effects are that the storefront picker and the cookie notice may ask again.
