CookbooksPro

Privacy policy

Updated: September 16, 2026

This page explains what CookbooksPro does with personal data. It is deliberately short, because the honest summary is that this site does not track you: there is no analytics, no advertising and no profiling anywhere on it.

Who operates this site

CookbooksPro is published by Chef John Guerrero, working chef and food consultant (ChefBusiness), C/ General Pardiñas 60, 28001 Madrid, Spain.

What we collect automatically: nothing that identifies you

We run no analytics, no advertising, no social plugins, no heatmaps and no A/B testing. There is no counter on this site and no profile of you is built.

The only things stored in your browser are three small preference entries, which never leave your device and are never sent to us:

KeyWherePurpose
cbp:storelocalStorageRemembers which Amazon store (US, UK, Canada or Australia) you picked
cbp-cookies-oklocalStorageRemembers that you dismissed the cookie notice
sideads-memosessionStorageAvoids repeating the same sidebar recommendation during one visit

These are described in detail — including how long they last and how to clear them — in our cookie policy.

What we collect when you write to us

If you email us (for a book recommendation, a question or a correction), we receive your email address and whatever you choose to write. We use that information only to reply to you, and we do not add you to any mailing list or share it with anyone. We keep the correspondence for as long as it takes to handle your request and for any follow-up, then it is deleted.

The legal basis for processing that message is your consent (you chose to write to us) and our legitimate interest in answering you.

Third parties

The only third-party request this site makes on its own is web fonts from Google Fonts (fonts.googleapis.com / fonts.gstatic.com): loading them discloses your IP address to Google, as any external resource would. It sets no cookie and stores nothing on your device, and we plan to self-host the fonts to remove the request entirely.

Everything else is optional and only happens if you click:

Hosting

This site is built as static files and served by Netlify. Like any host, Netlify processes basic technical traffic data (such as IP addresses in server logs) to deliver the pages and keep them secure; that processing is covered by Netlify’s privacy policy.

Your rights

Because the operator is established in the EU, the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) applies. You have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict, or object to the processing of your personal data, and the right to data portability. To exercise any of these, write to hello@cookbookspro.com. You may also lodge a complaint with your local data-protection authority.

Changes

This policy may be updated as the site evolves. The version published on this page is always the one in force, and the date at the top shows when it was last revised.
